Vegetarians May Need to Increase Intake of Omega 3s and B12

Although non-vegetarians are at higher risk of heart disease than vegetarians due to the increase intake of saturated fats, vegetarians can also be at an increased risk of heart disease if they are not getting all the key nutrients in their diets.   Omega 3s and B12, which are found mostly in animal foods, are two nutrients which are commonly lacking in a vegetarian diet.
